Ben Flajnik's proposal to Courtney Robertson has yet to even make air on ABC's The Bachelor and already he's going on the defensive.
Facing the bachelorettes he jilted this season on the ABC hit February 24 during the show's annual Women Tell All taping (airing Monday), Flajnik, 29, showed off an icy exterior to the women whom he once attempted to charm.
"Ben wasn't empathetic in the least," a witness at the Women Tell All Taping tells Us Weekly. "You would think Ben would be like 'Hey girls, I did not realize what Courtney was like, but after watching the show now, thank you for warning me.' Never once. He was on the defense as soon as he came out -- in a cold hearted way."
Failing to make amends with the women he scorned isn't necessarily a smart move for Flajnik, who a source says found his own feelings for Robertson fade after proposing last November.
As Robertson's abhorrent behavior unfolded on TV, "Ben began having issues with what he saw," says an insider. "Instead of talking to Courtney about it, he just started avoiding her. They haven't split, but he basically stopped talking to her. He buried his head in the sand."
Though Flajnik professed to be a "normal" guy looking for love, insiders say the winemaker -- who was caught cheating with three women in one weekend after proposing to Robertson -- never really wanted to find The One.
"Ben told his friends that he went on The Bachelor to publicize his wine," an insider explains. "He had no intention of finding love."
