She may not have found love on Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor, but one lucky lady will find herself being pursued by 25 eligible bachelors on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette.
As announced on Monday, March 11, on the After the Final Rose special, that woman will be none other than …[SPOILER ALERT] Desiree Hartsock, the warm-hearted girl-next-door who was eliminated on Sean's season after a less-than-stellar hometown date in her hometown of Los Angeles.
"I just can't even believe I'm here," she said through tears as she sat opposite show host Chris Harrison after her name was revealed. "And with the support of everyone? It's just such a blessing. I could have never imagined signing up for The Bachelor and having this opportunity. I'm just overcome with happiness."
The 26-year-old bridal stylist won the hearts of viewers during this season of The Bachelor for her spunky personality and natural chemistry with Sean. Taking Sean back to meet her family, however, proved to be disastrous, as her older brother accused the bachelor of being a "playboy."
At the rose ceremony that week, Sean faced a tough decision, but ultimately decided it was best to let Desiree go home over Catherine, 26.
But cheery Desiree said she was genuinely happy for the newly engaged couple, and can't wait for her turn to find love.
"I'm so happy for them and I can only hope to have that kind of love that they found," she said. "I'm ready and I'm open and I've seen it happen."
The new season of The Bachelorette will kick off on May 27 on ABC.
