Guess vampires really do suck. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 swept the Razzies, the anti-Academy Awards that "honors" the worst cinematic achievements of the year -- dubiously winning seven big awards on Saturday, Feb. 23. The fifth and final film in the blockbuster franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's supernatural books and starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner was named Worst Film, Worst Ensemble Cast, Worst Director (Bill Condon), Worst Actress (Stewart), Worst Supporting Actor (Lautner) and Worst Onscreen Couple (Lautner and young Mackenzie Foy, whose character Renesmee becomes the intended to Lautner's werewolf character, Jacob Black).
"I have a pet theory, which is that the box office on `Twilight' films is very impressive, but my theory is that instead of 40 million individual girls going to see it, it's 8 million girls going to see it five times each. People who love those movies just adore them," Razzies founder John Wilson acknowledged in a statement.
To be fair, 22-year-old Stewart won her Worst Actress Razzie for two performances: As Bella in Breaking Dawn as well as Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman. "Acting should involve having an expression on your face, and she is blank, other than the morose kind of half-Goth thing her character does," Wilson sniped. "Kristen Stewart is so expressionless she might as well be a brick wall."
Breaking Dawn Part 2 beat out other Worst Picture contenders Battleship, That's My Boy, The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure and Eddie Murphy's A Thousand Words. Other Razzie "winners" included Adam Sandler, Worst Actor for That's My Boy and Rihanna, Worst Supporting Actress for Battleship.
