Vin Diesel Sings Rihanna's "Stay" During Valentine's Day Karaoke
Odd celebrity mashup indeed! On Thursday, Feb. 14, Vin Diesel grabbed the mic at a karaoke session to cover Rihanna's soulful hit "Stay," adding a unique gruffness to the wistful tune.
In the nearly four-minute clip, which Diesel uploaded onto his Facebook page on Valentine's Day, the Fast Five actor stands to the far right edge of the screen, his face illuminated by a huge projector screen playing Rihanna's music video. The actor didn't note where or under what circumstances the musical performance took place.
"All along it was a fever," he begins the tune in his trademark baritone voice. "A cold sweat high-headed believer. I threw my hands in the air and said, 'Show me something,' He said, 'If you dare come a little closer.'"
The 45-year-old actor, who is dressed in a dress shirt and blazer for his soulful performance, even dares to try his hand at a falsetto at several points throughout the song, which Rihanna, 24, crooned herself at Sunday's Grammy Awards in L.A.
He very seriously ends his applause-worthy performance with a deep-voiced "Happy V Day, everyone, happy V Day, everyone, happy V Day everyone" and blows a kiss.
