Actor Mark Wahlberg took time out from his hectic schedule earlier this week to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Wahlberg is busy promoting new movie "The Fighter" ahead of the upcoming awards season but revealed earlier this month, "(I'm) going to Afghanistan to visit the soldiers ... right before Christmas."

And Wahlberg kept true to his word by jetting into the war-torn country to boost the morale of service men and women over the festive season.
Pictures obtained by WNYW FOX 5's "Good Day New York" show the actor sporting a helmet and protective clothing as he walks around talking to soldiers.
