CNN's Anderson Cooper has been reporting and tweeting non-stop the past few days from the heart of the political crisis in Egypt -- even documenting a personal attack during one vicious melee on the street.

Cooper sent his first tweet about the attack earlier Wednesday: "Got roughed up by thugs in pro-mubarak crowd..punched and kicked repeatedly. Had to escape. Safe now." This is followed a short time later by another disturbing tweet: "Its getting really bad in front of egyptian museum."

About one hour later, Cooper again confirms the attack and already provides footage: "Video: Anderson and crew attacked in Cairo."

One of his most recent Twitter posts, the CNN anchor/reporter gives an update on his own condition and his crew: "Thanks for tweets of concern..I'm sore and head hurts but fine. Neil and mary anne are bruised but ok too. Thanks"

Pictures also emerged of rough treatment of CBS news anchor Katie Couric and ABC news anchor Christiane Amanpour as they were pushed and jostled while getting caught up in the ongoing crisis in Egypt sparked by large anti-government protests.
