Jennifer Garner, while talking to reporters at the annual Save the Children Illumination Gala, said she wants her girls to embrace "femininity" in multiple ways, but she also wants Violet, 9 next month, and Seraphina, 5 1/2, "to be able to kick a guy's a--."

"That's why they've been taking karate since they were little," she said, according to People Magazine.

And if the girls need a role model to take after, Ben said they need look no further than their mother.

He said, "I think they understand what my wife understands full well, which is that it's important to be strong and present and powerful and accept nothing less than a man would and in fact, ask for more."
