Which Film Will Win Big at Jameson Empire Awards?
Although the glitz and glamour of the major awards season has dissipated, films and their casts still have an opportunity to be honored at the Jameson Empire Awards. Films that were largely ignored at the Golden Globes and Oscars, like Skyfall, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, could win big this Sunday.
Now that the academies have finished bestowing their annual awards to the best in film, Empire magazine gives moviegoers themselves an opportunity to honor their favorite films with its annual Jameson Empire Awards, which began in 1996.

With all the fans' ballots in for this year's awards, which will take place this weekend, we wait in anticipation to see who will take home the most awards this year.
The latest James Bond spy film Skyfall, which received a year-high six nominations, has a chance to win big and possibly sweep the show. The film, which has mainly received awards for Adele's original song to this point, has been well received by action fans.
Daniel Craig's tenure as James Bond has gotten on well with fan voters for the Jameson Empire Awards. In 2007, he won Best Actor for Casino Royale and the film also was awarded with the cherished Best Film Award. Quantum of Solace won Best Thriller two years later.

Skyfall isn't the only franchise film with a good history at the Jameson Empire Awards, though. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Dark Knight Rises, which join Skyfall as a Best Film nominee, have raked in their share of Empire Awards in the past.
The Hobbit, based on a fantasy novel by J.R.R. Tolkien and directed by Peter Jackson much like The Lord of the Rings, is right behind Skyfall with five nominations. Lord of the Rings films Fellowship of the Ring and Return of the King won three awards in their respective years, both collecting Best Film.
To add to the tight competition, The Dark Knight, predecessor of The Dark Knight Rises beat out Craig's Bond film Quantum Solace for Best Film when the two were both nominated in 2009.
