Baldwin Real Miffed Over Rumors He Showed Interest in 'Real' Housewife
Alec Baldwin wants everyone to know he has standards, and fame-hungry reality show Z-listers don't make the grade. The "30 Rock" star was annoyed when the New York Daily News claimed that he wanted to get to know "Real Housewives of New York City" headliner Bethenny Frankel better during an event in the Hamptons last weekend. "He was saying he had absolutely no interest in hanging out with [her co-stars, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps and Kelly Bensimon]," claimed an eyewitness. "But he kept inquiring if Bethenny was coming. He said he really wanted to meet her and even complained that, of course, the one woman he wanted to meet wasn't coming. He wasn't even being discreet about how interested he was." Not so, says Alec, who tells the New York Post that his hankering for a tête-à-tête was misconstrued. "My friend, Jessica Ambrose, and her daughter, Lyman, are big fans of her show and wanted to meet Bethenny, so I asked for them to be introduced to her," explains Baldwin. "I don't know her and wasn't looking to meet her, but somehow this ends up in the Daily News -- manufacturing a nice gesture into a total BS item suggesting I want to date this woman. Nothing against her, but I'm not dating anyone."
