Jane Fonda sure knows how to wake up Americans. While appearing on "Today" with "The Vagina Monologues" playwright Eve Ensler on Feb. 14, 2008, Jane used the "c-word" to describe a certain part of the female anatomy. Naturally, it shocked and angered a lot of people who didn't think that word went well with morning coffee and bagels. But it wasn't Jane who apologized for the slip-up; it was host Meredith Vieira. "Jane Fonda inadvertently said a word from the play that you don't say on television," Vieira said after a news break. "It was a slip and obviously she apologizes, and so do we. We would do nothing to offend the audience. So please accept that apology."
