Is the groundwork being laid for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's eventual parting of ways? With many wondering whether the "Twilight" twosome would keep it together now that their promotional duties are mostly complete and the furor over her two-timing has died down, the London Sun jump-starts the speculation by claiming they've once again called it quits.
"She flew to L.A. and was supposed to be Rob's date for the Golden Globes, but he told her he wants to cool it off," a source alleges to the tabloid. "He loves her but would rather go back to being good friends so they can rebuild their trust and focus on work after 'Twilight.' Kristen's upset but understands. She shouldn't have pushed him to reconcile after her infidelity. She's hoping he'll come around and time will be a great healer."
But before you light a black candle on your Edward and Bella altar, keep in mind that Pattinson, 26, and Stewart, 22, were, in fact, together for Sunday's Golden Globes, just not at the ceremony itself.
The couple of three-plus years rendezvoused at an afterparty, with K. Stew, decked out in her usual jeans, sweatshirt and baseball cap, arriving around 1 a.m., long after Rob charmed Globes co-host Tina Fey by presenting her with a rose.
"They hung around each other, but [they weren't] on top of each other," a source tells People, with another adding to Us that after chitchatting for an hour with the likes of Eddie Redmayne and Sienna Miller, Robsten headed to another shindig with friends.
Whatever the state of the relationship, Pattinson will apparently have some time to think about things. He's spending the next several weeks shooting "The Rover" in Australia.
Meanwhile, there's news on director Rupert Sanders, the other party in Kristen's Mini Cooper-set dalliance. Click on for the details ...
