While many of us are trying to keep our teeth from chattering while downing a cup of hot chocolate in subzero temperatures, Anne Hathaway is enjoying the sun, surf and sand in Oahu. But her Hawaiian getaway hasn't been without a hiccup or two. According to TMZ, the Oscar winner ran into trouble during a swim on Wednesday when she hit a strong riptide.
A nearby surfer apparently came out to give her a hand back to shore, but she ended up scratching her foot on a reef.
Luckily, her husband, Adam Shulman scared up some medical supplies, and he disinfected Anne's toe wound, stuck a Band-Aid on it and sealed it with a kiss.
Paparazzi positioned on the beach documented the entire incident, from Hathaway's flailing and pained expressions in the water to Shulman's ministrations. Here's hoping that if she'd been in actual danger, at least one of shutterbugs would have put down the camera and helped her out.
The good news is the actress was soon back on her feet and off on a stroll, and she returned to the beach on Thursday for some playtime with a friend's infant.
