Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin continue to set the standard for how one behaves while consciously uncoupling. Just weeks after their post-breakup tropical family vacation, the soon-to-be exes stepped out Thursday night for what appears to be a perfectly civil dinner at hot spot Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.
The actress sported white shorts, a black blazer, booties and minimal makeup for the meet-up, while the Coldplay frontman kept it casual in a long-sleeved t-shirt and sneakers.
"Gwyneth and Chris were in a great mood, laughing and sharing some wine," a source tells paparazzi agency X17 Online. "Everyone in the restaurant definitely noticed them, but they didn't draw attention. It looked like there was no bad blood between them at all."
The parents of Apple and Moses tried to foil the shutterbugs by ducking out the eatery's back door, but several photos were snapped before Gwyneth hopped behind the wheel and drove them away. Perhaps they were heading off to check out the actress' soon-to-open GOOP popup store, which she revealed Thursday on Instagram in a photo featuring a rustic white door and the words, "coming soon may 5-11."
Little is known about the endeavor other than it will likely be located at the celeb-friendly Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles. Will it sell such GOOP recommendations as $100 slingshots, a $7,000 backgammon table or a $495 key-lime pleated miniskirt? We can only hope, people, just as we hope that Gwyneth will work the register and personally judge everything we buy.
It's been a bumpy road of late for GOOP, which crashed after Paltrow and Martin used it to announce their split on March 25. It went down again on Thursday when fans scrambled to snap up items from Gwyneth's "super-classy yard sale," which included gently used designer goods from such famous pals as Kate Hudson and Nicole Richie. One of the most coveted items: a $2,500 pair of booties donated by her sometime BFF, Beyoncé.
All proceeds from the sale are earmarked for charity, which is a nice gesture, considering GOOP has also been plagued by talk of financial problems (Gwyneth denies that's the case). The site also just lost its CEO, ostensibly because he didn't want to relocate with the offices from London to Los Angeles.
