In what can best be categorized as wish fulfillment for awards season watchers, a romance may be a-brewing between ridiculously pretty people Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o.
The supporting Oscar frontrunners (he for "Dallas Buyers Club"; she for "12 Years a Slave") have raised eyebrows and expectations in recent months with their red carpet chemistry, and now Page Six believes a love connection is "blossoming."
Seems Leto, 42, and Nyong'o, 30, were spied enjoying a tête-à-tête on Wednesday at a Manhattan hotel.
"They were huddled at a corner table together looking very close," relays a spy.
Granted, they could have been talking about an upcoming movie project or commiserating over the Oscar hoopla, but the looks the ombré-haired actor has been tossing Lupita's way as they've collected multiple accolades has had the rumor mill buzzing.
Their reps have yet to comment on the rumblings.
On Thursday, Nyong'o made a splash at New York Fashion Week by scoring a front-row seat next to Vogue overlord Anna Wintour at the Calvin Klein show.
The actor has also been partaking in the Fashion Week festivities, and on the same day as the actress made the scene, Page Six claimed a pair of models shot Leto down when he tried to score their digits.
