Remember when Johnny Depp lived an enigmatic life on a remote French estate? That appealing air of mystery is gone, replaced with details of his daily life. For instance, on Tuesday night in New York, he celebrated fiancé Amber Heard's 28th birthday with a few dozen red roses, a budget cake, chocolates and a trip to an antiquarian bookstore.
Paparazzi stationed at their hotel documented the arrival of the flowers, gifts and a birthday sheet cake complete with the price tag on the side. The shutterbugs also tagged along for the pair's outing to Bauman Rare Books, where they presumably picked out a special little something for her big day (click on for pics).
Depp, 50, was once again styling his beat-up, hole-filled fedora, which he paired with a brown leather jacket and frayed jeans decorated with a sticker reading "We are you."
Heard, who's currently shooting a movie in New York, rocked a gray t-shirt, leather coat, skinny jeans and Heidi braids, an improvement over her outfit from the day before, when she was dressed as a Johnny impersonator.
"She's a wonderful girl," Depp recently said of Amber. "She's sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me."
