Now, Us Weekly offers up details on the "sweet proposal," with insiders revealing that it took place in the mountains of Jackson, a location that holds a special meaning to the light-bulb lovebirds (read: on and off), who will soon mark their five-year anniversary.
"Justin knows how much she loves snowboarding and the mountains," explains a source, "so it was the perfect place."
The crooner-turned-actor, 30, has "never been happier" with his 29-year-old squeeze, says another spy, declaring, "He knew it was the right time to propose."
The aisle-walk reports come nearly a year after the couple announced they had "mutually" decided to part ways, ostensibly because she wanted to settle down and he wanted to sow a wild oat or two.
But Jessica was never far from Justin's mind.
"She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life," he declared to the July issue of Vanity Fair. "In my 30 years, she is the most special person, OK?"
The split proved short-lived, and they quietly reconciled over the summer. According to Us, the actress "made it clear" that she was looking for an "until death do us part" scenario with Timberlake.
"When they reunited, they had a conversation about taking the next step," recalls a snitch.
Reps for the pair haven't yet commented on the betrothal reports, but let's just go ahead and offer our congratulations as we take a look back at Timberlake and Biel's longtime romance ...
