When you think Zac Efron, you probably think chiseled abs, dreamy eyes and a boyish smile. You don't think potential rehab candidate. But E! News and People report that the former "High School Musical" star completed a hush-hush stay in treatment about five months ago.
The news comes as a surprise, considering Zac, 25, has never made much of an impression on the Hollywood party scene. And sources are quick to point out that he's already back on track.
"He's healthy, happy and not drinking," an insider tells E!. "He's taking time to focus on working."
TMZ, however, says Efron's problem wasn't with alcohol but with harder substances.
Either way, another spy chimes in to People that he's "doing great. He's taking care of himself and it shows."
His reps have yet to comment.
Efron has kept an extremely low profile since May, when he was snapped filming "Neighbors" with Seth Rogen.
Word of his reported rehab stint comes just as he steps back into the public eye. On Sept. 6, Zac looked like his usual healthy self as he walked red carpet at premiere of his forthcoming JFK drama "Parkland" at the Toronto International Film Festival.
