You guided the students today to a gratitude circle, and as everyone was sharing, I thought about how much you have to be grateful for. It's been a big year for you with a hit summer movie, a wedding and a baby on the way. Talk to me about what it's like to be Matthew McConaughey right now.
It's been a wonderful year. It's been the most creative year I've had as far as even creation. Five movies I did last year are now out this year. Last year was an incredibly creative year, but then this year I got married and made that bond with my wife. That was a new creation and creating another child with the two at home. And every day with them is like the first time. That's the great thing about kids; it's always the first time for them every day. And everything that has gone on the past couple years is linked to things I know from my past. That feels good to have that lineage. Sometimes things happen to us and you're like, "Great, I don't know where that came from. I don't understand how I got here." I feel like I understand what's going on. … It's been a wonderful year. I am excited daily for everything going on in my life.
