Russell Brand is completely on board the monogamy train. But only because he has to be. "That's one of the things about this institution of marriage I've recently had explained to me by my wife," the retired Casanova tells the London Daily Mirror of missus-to-be Katy Perry. "You must be faithful. And I don't have a problem with that. I'm really, really in love. Well, I mean. You know, it's sort of odd isn't it, because there is certainly a compromise. You just can't maraud through life [bleeping] whomever you'd like. Which is a shame 'cause I wish I actually could do that. That's the compromise."
But it's one he's made willingly.
"She's a perfectly lovely, decent person, good fun and engaging, easy to be around and interesting. Meeting her changed me," Brand shares with Rolling Stone. "With her, I don't feel like I'm fulfilling some bizarre psychological fetish … I want to be in union with her and in denial of my biological drives … I hope it works. It's a new experience for me."
Meanwhile, Perry's ex, Travis McCoy (he now goes by Travie), has penned a tune about their failed romance, which petered out in early 2009. He tells People magazine that his new ditty "Need You" is about trying to move on after being "bruised" by a former flame. "But it's not a stab in any way," insists McCoy. "And I haven't been sitting around for a year waiting for her to call me. She's moved on I'm doing my thing."
