Despite the fact that he popularized the acronym YOLO with his song "The Motto," Drake isn't the first person to use the ubiquitous phrase. ("The Average Joe" star Adam Mesh, in fact, is credited with coining it.) But that hasn't stopped the rapper from asking Macy's and Walgreens for royalties from the sales of their YOLO products. Drake Instagrammed photos of merchandise featuring the word, writing, "Walgreens...you gotta either chill or cut the cheque" and "Macy's...same goes for you." Maybe Drake's the one who needs to chill.
