In a statement released earlier this week, Halle's rep said she dropped out of the currently filming movie "New Year's Eve" because of "pending custody litigation involving her daughter." Now an insider details the drama to People mag, suggesting that the New York-based production was the "final straw" that ignited the firestorm between the former flames.
According to the source, Gabriel decided not to tag along on the two-week shoot, and Halle, rather than leave Nahla in Los Angeles, opted out of the rom-com (she was replaced by Katherine Heigl).
"When Gabriel refused to go, that became a factor in her decision to pull out of the film because she didn't feel right leaving Nahla," maintains the mole. "No job is that important to Halle. Nahla comes first."
The official word from Aubry, who spent several months last year traveling with Halle and Nahla to Europe and South Africa while she filmed "Dark Tide," during which she met current boyfriend Olivier Martinez: "While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle's decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a canceled film production."
