Kat Von D goes under the sea for wedding to Deadmau5
Friends and family of Kat Von D better be prepared to get soaked when she ties the knot on Aug. 10. People magazine says she'll become Mrs. Deadmau5 (a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman) in an "underwater-themed" ceremony that will include performers in mermaid costumes and blue-and green-hued food.
The ceremony will be "the furthest thing from traditional," explains Von D, who accepted a Twitter-based proposal from the mouse head-sporting electronic musician in December. The couple settled on the theme due to their mutual love of H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Call of Cthulhu," which features a half-man, half-octopus character.
As for Kat's dress, "It will have a sleek silhouette and include hints of iridescent teals, blues and deep violet ombré gradients." Her fiancé is helping with the design.
Says the ink-stained tattoo artist, who came thisclose to becoming the fourth Mrs. Jesse James (she later accused him of cheating on her with 19 women), "Being with Joel is the only thing that feels more natural than tattooing."
Adds Deadmau5, "Our wedding is merely a celebration of that love and commitment we live in already."
