Duchess Kate makes first public appearance since Prince George's birth
Dressed casually in a green Ralph Lauren jacket and wedged heels, the Duchess of Cambridge helped her husband, Prince William, kick off the Ring O' Fire Coastal Ultra Marathon on Anglesey off the coast of Wales on Friday. The royal couple chatted with volunteers, runners and spectators for about an hour at the start of the three-day race, according to the BBC, which also noted that Kate's appearance was a last-minute surprise. Will and Kate have spent a good deal of time at their home in Anglesey since 2009.
"She's been seen shopping in Waitrose, out and about and on the beach at Rhosneigr," local resident Louise Emery-Jones told the Mirror. "They have done wonders for the tourist industry. I think it's been a lovely life for them here. It's a shame they can't live here."
