Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley Named Hollywood Heroines of 2012
Over the weekend, the New York Times Magazine launched "Wide Awake," a video series honoring actresses whose performances "defined the year in film." Not surprisingly, "The Hunger Games" and "Silver Lining Playbook" star Jennifer Lawrence, "Les Miserables" Oscar hopeful Anne Hathaway and "Anna Karenina" star Keira Knightley all made the cut, along with Rebel Wilson, Helen Hunt and Elle Fanning. Rather than rehash clips from the films that landed each woman on the list, the Times created a "video gallery of dreams and transformations," with each actress appearing in her own, trippy video segment. A sultry Jennifer Lawrence steps out into a garden with a hose which proceeds to wrap itself around her, allowing a snake to slither up beside her. Hathaway, meanwhile, plays a downtrodden maid whose cleaning shift in a hotel room transforms her into a glamorous, satin-ensconced beauty. (GossipCop)
