New York Times Chronicles Lindsay Lohan's Trouble-Plagued Time on ‘Canyons' Set
A very long, very candid feature in this week's New York Times endeavors to show readers "what happens when you cast Lindsay Lohan in your movie." The movie in question is "The Canyons," a super low-budget, Paul Schrader-directed camp-fest that Schrader's own wife labeled "pornographic" after reading only 50 pages of the script. "Lindsay Lohan moves through the Chateau Marmont as if she owns the place, but in a debtor-prison kind of way," writes Stephen Rodrick, who followed the director and cast for the duration of filming. During that time, he says he witnessed Lohan show up late to work and not at all, get fired and beg/scream for her job back (successfully), freak out over a four-way sex scene that she'd signed off on in her contract and drive drunk, among other things.
TMZ is now reporting that Lohan is telling friends Rodrick was basically on target with his portrayal of her except for the drunk driving. The troubled actress reportedly claims she took no part in the post-shoot shots of vodka poured by Schrader, denying a portion of the article that hints at how she ended up crashing her black Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway last year.
