Jennifer Lawrence: 'I'm Not That Crazy, But I Am An Artist'
In a new interview with W, the ever-endearing Jennifer Lawrence confesses that she feels a solidarity of sorts with the slightly-off Goth widow she plays in "Silver Linings Playbook." "I like that my character knows that she's crazy -- and accepts it," says Lawrence, who is nothing if not self-accepting. Just 22, Lawrence's often hilariously straightforward demeanor seems to land her as many headlines as her acting skills.
The W piece opens with Lawrence, naked in a hotel room, telling a reporter, "I have no modesty left." Noting that there's no "easier way to be" than honest, she returns to the matter of sound-mindedness by admitting that she has a little problem with superstition. Referring to boyfriend Nicholas Hoult (whom she is rumored to have since split from) Lawrence says, "Whenever it's 11:11, I make all of the people around me wish that my boyfriend not get killed in a motorbike accident." Asked if that includes both a.m. and p.m. times, she gasps, "I don't wake up for it! God, I hardly ever wake up before 11. I'm an artist! I need at least 18 hours a night, with catnaps." In sum, Lawrence adds, "I'm not that crazy, but I am an artist." (W)
