Gwyneth Paltrow on Past Oscars Regrets: 'I Should've Worn a Bra'
In a new Q&A on GOOP pegged to spring fashion, website maestro Gwyneth Paltrow answers questions about her history of successful fashion risks -- as well as faux pas. She acknowledges that being photographed in the '90s was somewhat of a minefield, implying that some trends from the flannel and Lilith Fair era might not have been the most flattering style concepts. In particular, she says she would have made changes to her 2000 and 2002 Oscar ensembles. The 2000 Calvin Klein dress, she says, was "not Oscars material." The Alexander McQueen getup she wore in 2002, meanwhile, had multiple problems. "I still love the dress itself," she says, "but I should have worn a bra, and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to -- a little bit of punk at the Oscars." If it didn't work in part because it was too revealing, at least Seth MacFarlane, of "We Saw Your Boobs" infamy, didn't seem to notice. Small favors …
