Amy Winehouse's parents and the folks behind the foundation they established in her name launched the first annual Amy Winehouse Foundation Inspiration Awards and Gala in New York on Thursday. The evening featured a performance by Jennifer Hudson, and awards for achievement and inspiring "a new generation" with music were bestowed upon Tony Bennett and Nas, respectively, WENN reports. Guests included Harry Belafonte, Sean Lennon and Mark Ronson. "Even though [Winehouse] had a short life, she had a great life because she ended up praying for the success that she wanted, and it happened. This is what this night's about," said Bennett, who recorded with the late singer shortly before her death by alcohol poisoning in 2011.
