Alicia Keys Tells Oprah That Swizz Beatz Taught Her Spontaneity
"I really learned what everyone meant when they said, 'you know when you know,' when I met my husband." That's how Alicia Keys kicked off a discussion with Oprah Winfrey in an episode of "Oprah's Master Class" that aired Sunday. The singer went on to gush about how her relationship with Swizz Beatz has affected her for the better. "He's definitely taught me a lot about freedom and a lot about spontaneity and about being open to life and how it's going to happen," she said, according to the Daily News. "Before, I was always kind of regimented about how everything had to happen, I had to plan it out all perfect, but that's not quite life," she said. "That's part of life, don't get it wrong, you have to plan things and execute them, but there's also another part of life that's very spontaneous, that's very natural and it kind of unfolds and it happens to you." Alicia and Swizz wed in July 2010 and welcomed their son, Egypt, in October of that year.
