Henry Gibson, Sept. 14, age 73: Henry Gibson was a gifted character actor who appeared in several Robert Altman films, including "Nashville," "The Long Goodbye" and "Health." He also was a key original cast member of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" in the late '60s. One of his recurring bits was as the writer and reciter of non sequitur poems on the show. "The State of the Union," by Henry Gibson: "I think the state of the union would be better/if the union just stayed in bed." Bow.
