Blue Ivy Danced to Beyonce's MTV VMAs Performance With Jay Z in Audience
At just 2-and-a-half years old, Blue Ivy stole the show at MTV's 2014 Video Music Awards, outshining music's biggest stars -- even her mom!
The little one of the Carter family attended the awards show at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 24, with her parents, Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z. She was all dolled up for the soirée, wearing a metallic dress with a matching hair bow.
She sat on Jay's lap during the show, taking in the performances by big names such as Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Usher. Her mother Beyonce took the stage for the big finale to perform a medley of songs off of her latest self-titled studio album before accepting the Video Vanguard Award.
While the "Partition" singer belted hits such as "Pretty Hurts," "Blow," "Blue," and "XO," the little girl bopped along to the music, doing dance moves with her hands at one point during the performance.
After Bey wrapped her stunning medley, Jay and Blue took the stage to present her with the moon man. Blue clapped along as the crowd cheered for Beyonce, exclaiming "Yay, mommy!" in celebration.
This is a rare public appearance for little Blue, whom Beyonce and Jay Z largely keep out of the public eye. Bey usually only offers small glimpses of her daughter, who was born in January 2012, four years after the Carters said "I do."
