Shakira's boyfriend, Gerard Pique, spilled the news on Thursday that the couple have a new son, but not everyone is believing this baby announcement -- and for good reason.
Writing in Spanish, the soccer player, 25, tweeted: "Since our son was born! We are very happy! Thank you all for your messages!"
Shakira, who announced her pregnancy mid-September on her blog, never confirmed the news, and early on Friday, some began speculating that this was a Twitter prank, seeing as Dec. 27, is Spain's Day of the Holy Innocents, similar to April Fools' Day.
ETOnline managed to get the scoop from Shakira's rep, who confirmed that the tweet was in fact a joke.
The 35-year-old "Voice" judge's rep tells ETonline, "Yesterday was Dia de los Inocentes which is similar to April Fools'. She hasn't had the baby yet."
