George Clinton's estranged wife wants alimony payments
Funk star George Clinton's estranged wife is demanding temporary alimony as they take their divorce battle through the courts.
The music legend filed divorce papers to end his 22-year marriage to Stephanie Lynn Clinton last month, alleging their relationship was "irretrievably broken."
In his legal papers, Clinton explained that the pair had been separated for many years, and believed that he did not owe Stephanie spousal support as they do not share a bank account and own no property together. However, Clinton's wife filed her response to the divorce request in Florida last week, asking a judge to award her temporary alimony as they decide on a settlement, according to TMZ.com.
The pair wed in Ohio in 1990. They do not have any children together.
