For months, Adam Levine has brushed off rumors of a rough patch with leggy model Anne Vyalitsyna. But on Monday, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition regular confirmed that she had parted ways with the Maroon 5 front man turned "The Voice" judge after two years of togetherness.
"Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner," she tells People. "We still love and respect each other as friends. I wish him all the best."
Levine, 33, hooked up with the statuesque, Russian-born blonde, 26, in early 2010 after they met at a Sports Illustrated shindig in Las Vegas (Maroon 5 performed). It was not love at first sight.
"He thought I was a stuck-up b----, and I kind of thought he was a d----bag musician," Anne V told Howard Stern in February. But after they downed a few drinks together, sparks started to fly.
"This is the longest, most functional relationship I've ever been in," Adam admitted to Stern. "I don't want to screw it up."
But rumblings of trouble were already brewing.
According to Us Weekly, the couple got into a "big fight" in late January. The problem, a source said at the time, was that the model "doesn't think he treats her well," despite serenading her onstage at the Victoria's Secret fashion show last November (click through the pics above to see) and buying her a $15,000 Birkin bag for Christmas.
But an insider now assures the mag, "He will always love and cherish her."
