"We were banned by the Vatican. What a shocker. This film, aside from my children, is the most important thing I've ever done," she said. The film was followed by a performance to Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" and Kanye West's "Jesus Walks" by several of Madonna dancers and then, finally, the Material Girl herself sang Elliot Smith's song "Behind the Bars" as a piano played, and her son Rocco Ritchie danced.
Lohan, for one, was impressed with the evening, telling Us that Madonna was "incredible."
