Matthew McConaughey respects Reese Witherspoon's honesty about her arrest
Reese Witherspoon may have bailed on promoting her new film "Mud" for now, but her co-star Matthew McConaughey is still facing questions from the press about Witherspoon's surprising arrest for disorderly conduct over the weekend.
"I'm happy to see that she seems to be the kind of woman that would do just what she did ... Look at it in the eye and be forthright," McConaughey tells Entertainment Tonight, referring to her post-arrest apology and decision not to participate in this week's promotional appearances.
"You're in the fish bowl, you know?" he reminded the reporter. "It could be a feeling like you're the subject of the universe and that can be intimidating. And just have to work harder to get the solace of asking yourself how you feel about a situation when the spotlight's really on you like that." Oh, Matthew. We love it when you get all spiritual about a drunken outburst ...
