Amanda Seyfried Admits Using 'Liquid Courage' on Talk Shows
Just because a gal stars in hit movies doesn't mean she's all confident, all the time. In fact, the seemingly simple act of promoting a new film can turn Amanda Seyfried into a bundle of nerves -- unless she has her secret weapon on board. The "Les Miserables" star dropped by David Letterman's show on Tuesday, and clarified exactly what her weapon of choice is in such situations. "I'm pretty drunk," said the 25-year-old. Letterman then asked her to share exactly how much she'd quaffed prior to the show. "To be honest with you Dave, I've had about three," said Seyfried. "I'm a big fan of whiskey. I had some Midleton. [My costar] Russell Crowe gave me some Midleton for my birthday, and I had some of that before I got here. And then your lovely colleagues had some Jameson waiting for me [backstage]."
Although the star noted that she rarely drinks, she added that she makes an exception to her usual teetotaling for live TV. "I have to go on record saying I've never done a live television show — after noon — without some kind of liquid courage." Not skipping a beat, Letterman raised his own glass of Jameson -- and a fourth for his guest -- in a toast before she said "good night." (Celebitchy)
