Frank Ocean, 'Glee,' 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' Up for GLAAD Awards
When GLAAD honors media figures who have advanced the cause of the LGBT community this spring, Frank Ocean, Adam Lambert and Rufus Wainwright will be in the running for Outstanding Music Artist. In the television category, "Glee" and "The New Normal" face off against "Go On," "Happy Endings" and "Modern Family." In film, nominees include "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Cloud Atlas," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," "ParaNorman" and "Your Sister's Sister." The nominees were announced Wednesday by the organization's president, Herndon Graddick, who noted: "This year's nominees enlighten and entertain, but also reflect a new American landscape where a growing majority accept and value their LGBT family, colleagues and friends. Now, more than ever, viewers not only accept gay and transgender plot lines, they expect them." Ceremonies will take place between March and May in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. (WENN)
