James Franco Invokes His Fave Burrito Hang, Claire Danes and How He Might Win an Oscar in his Inauguration Poem
In honor of Monday's second inauguration of Barack Obama, Yahoo commissioned Renaissance man James Franco to pen a poem commemorating the historic event. The actor reads the resulting masterpiece, "Obama in Asheville," in an online video shot in what appears to be his bedroom. He's dressed for occasion in a rumpled T-shirt, and sort of slouches against a wall in dim lighting as he marks the presidential inauguration by poetically describing how F. Scott Fitzgerald was once too drunk to off himself in Asheville, N.C., which, by the way, has nothing to do with Obama, and everything to do with Franco's current location.
In the poem, Franco goes on to recall a burrito shop he totally digs, and how Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Claire Danes were there when he met the president, who "remembered me from 'Spider-Man.'" Because that's super-relevant. Franco also references King Charles, CNN and the Huffington Post. In the final bit, which we like to call, "Are You Still Talking, James Franco?," he says that if he "captured" Obama's "soul" in the poem, he would probably "win an Academy Award." Hey, it's James Franco's world. The president's just livin' in it. (TheFrisky)
