We rely on our parents to teach us some of the most important lessons in life: Look both ways before crossing the street. Call 911 in case of an emergency. Don't date drummers, etc. In turn, we teach our parents even more about themselves, the world -- and dealing with us! We asked some of Hollywood's biggest stars -- from Salma Hayek to Miranda Kerr -- to share what they've learned from their kids. Click through to see which profound, useful, and funny lessons their children taught them.
"Egypt's taught me how to be more concise in my life, how to make better choices. Not that I didn't make good choices, but it was always a little more difficult for me to deliberate between things. Now, I find that I'm able to make choices much more concisely and clearly. I think he made me also make sure that my life is always surrounded with positivity, and if there's anything other than that, I don't want it. I don't want it around me, and I don't want it around him. He's also taught me to find the wonder in all of the little things, like the light. I think he's really inspired me to remember and recall things that are full of wonderment." --Alicia Keys, mother of Egypt Dean, 2
