In January 2004, Usher and Chilli called it quits. And while the primary reason for the breakup was their different relationship goals (read: Chilli wanted a ring, and Usher wouldn't give it to her), there were other factors at work. A few weeks after their split, Usher confessed to Chilli that he had cheated on her during their two-year relationship. "He portrayed himself as faithful, and he wasn't," she told People. "I could never be with him ever again."
Still, both maintain that none of the songs on Usher's 2004 album, "Confessions," which deals with cheating, are about their relationship. "We were together when he was recording that album," Chilli told Sister2Sister magazine. "I was in the studio with him on most of those songs, so I guess people just don't do the math with it all. We didn't break up because of infidelity or anything like that. We broke up because we just did not work." For his part, Usher categorically denies that he has a love child like the one he sings about in "Confessions Part II."
