From business analyst to "Bachelor" to... politician? In a move that would be a first for a star of the hit ABC reality show, Ben Higgins might be running for office.

"The Bachelor" star currently resides in Denver, Colorado, and is 'seriously considering' running for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives. He confirmed his political aspirations to The Colorado Independent, who report that he would run as a Republican.

The 28-year-old is reportedly also consulting with Colorado politicians about his run for House District 4, and has already launched an official campaign website.

The site is pretty bare, but reads "Thank you for your support as Ben explores his opportunities to make a positive impact on his local community!" Aside from that greeting, there's only a form to fill out which enrolls you in an email list to receive updates on his campaign.

One problem Ben might face is the fact that there's already a Republican running for the seat in that district. Republicans have already nominated Willie Pinkston, but the politician has already made it clear he would drop out if Ben wants to get involved. "I definitely plan on stepping aside," Willie told The Colorado Independent.

The prospective nominee had only good things to say about Ben, calling him, "likely the only other Republican who can win" and adding that he'd be happy to pass on his nomination. "He's got name recognition… we'd love to support him since he wants to run and is capable," Willie explained.

If Willie steps down and Ben lands the Republican nomination, the reality star would then be up against the man currently holding the seat, Democrat Dan Pabon. Dan was arrested for suspicion of DUI in March 2016, and has been plagued by scandals.

For Ben's part, though he doesn't have political experience and admits he is "definitely not a politician," he believes his work with charities and his time in the financial services industry make him a good fit for the job.

"Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure," Ben stated. "Lauren and I aren't sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family and for Lauren and me."

Ben is currently living with "The Bachelor" season 20 winner, Lauren Bushnell, whom he gave the final rose. The two are currently planning their wedding, but haven't set a date or location. No matter where the nuptials occur, a source told US Weekly that Ben and Lauren have agreed that they be taped for an ABC special.
