Britney Spears can do a lot of things, but use a computer is not one of them.
"Honestly, I still don't use my computer," she told writer John Norris with a laugh during an interview for the cover of V Magazine's 100th issue, which was accompanied by a very sultry photoshoot, shot by famed photographer Mario Testino.
"My kids use the computer more than I do," adds the pop star. "I understand that a lot of people are into it, and I have days where I write and stuff, but it's really not for me. It's not my thing."
The "Piece of Me" singer, who appeared on the cover of V Magazine once before -- in V70 in 2011, shot to superstardom before the days of rampant social media use and therefore has sympathy for today's young stars.
"Whoever is in the spotlight, people are really quick to judge," Britney says. "I mean, there are a lot of kids coming up who've experienced that. You know, Justin Bieber, he's huge, and he experiences that. It's just the way the world works, unfortunately."
But even if she did regularly use a computer, it's unlikely the 34 year old would let Twitter trolls affect her attitude.
"I've been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don't pay attention to it," she asserts. "I have my relationship with God and myself and that's what matters to me. I really don't care what most people think."
Britney also has her upcoming ninth studio album to occupy her mind.
"Honestly, I'm just particular with this record," she tells V of the top-secret project. "It's my baby, and so I really want it done right. I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be, whether that takes another year for me to do, or two months. I have no idea at this point. … But I'm not rushing anything. I just want it to be done right, so that my fans will truly appreciate it."
The singer may not know when exactly her album will be completed, but she knows one thing for certain: Her new music is some of the best work she's done in recent years.
"I just know that the direction I'm going in is so good," she says. "It's the best thing I've done in a long time. I'm proud of the work, and it's very different; it's not what you would think at all."
Well, that certainly has our interest piqued!
Photographer Mario Testino shot Britney for three versions of the cover of the 100th issue of V Magazine. Two variations feature close-up shots the singer looking sultry while lounging on a sofa with a fierce smoky eye. The third variation depicts Britney sitting by a window in a sheer long-sleeve caged top and thigh highs with half of her blond locks pulled back away from her face.
