Many were surprised by the sudden cancellation of FYI's "Kocktails With Khloé" after only 14 episodes.
According to Page Six, although ratings were relatively high for the talk show, it was pure "chaos" behind the scenes.
Some critics panned the show, but it definitely raised the profile of FYI Network since the premiere on Jan. 20 2016. "Kocktails" averaged 24 percent more viewers than a show in the same slot a year ago, and it netted the most digital views in the channel's history.
Still, an insider at the show tells Page Six, "It was chaos. Nobody agreed with anybody else about what it should be or what direction it should be going."
Another source told the paper staffers didn't always get along with host Khloé. "Khloé's used to being on a smash-hit show ['Keeping Up With the Kardashians' with sister Kim] and being able to call the shots," says the insider. "But it's not like that on a small show . . . Eventually everyone had enough."
Khloé announced the show's ending on April 6 with a series of tweets thanking FYI, the team behind the show, guests and fans. She said April 20 would be the last show, but they're "going out with a bang."
In response, Kris Jenner tweeted her support of daughter Khloé, saying she's "proud" of her.
The elephant on Kris's timeline, of course, is that she still hasn't commented on son Rob Kardashian's engagement to Blac Chyna. In fact, all of the Kardashians/Jenners have remained publicly mum on the subject.
While Kris happily posts photos from the family's ski vacation in Vail, Colorado, she hasn't even acknowledged the new Kardashian waiting in the wings. Us Weekly reports "each has privately reached out to the Arthur George sock designer, 29, and wished him the best following his Monday, April 4, engagement, they're not entirely on board with forever after."
Another insider told US, "Kris is not happy. Dating Chyna is one thing, but marrying her is another … The whole family is discussing it and is angry, but they are talking to come up with a unified front for how to address it … It's a huge mistake to them."
Meanwhile, Blac Chyna and Rob seem happier than ever on social media. Chyna, who plans to take Rob's name after the wedding, has vowed to train Rob over the next five weeks leading up to her birthday and is posting his progress on social media.
This real-life drama is exactly what makes this family so fun to watch on TV. Keep it coming, guys!
