There's definitely mad something between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, but it's anything but Mad Love -- the name of the "Roar" singer's follow up 2016 perfume after her first scent, Mad Potion, last year.
In the chorus of Tay Tay's hit single "Bad Blood," she sings, "Cause baby, now we've got bad blood/You know it used to be mad love/So take a look what you've done/Cause baby, now we've got bad blood, hey!"
There's no concrete evidence that Katy's choice for the moniker of her scent is a direct jab at Taylor, but we do know that the two pop stars have been semi-feuding for quite some time.
Way back when, there was buzz that Swifty accused Katy of stealing her dancers in an attempt to take down her tour, via E! Online.
In 2014, Taylor spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about the unidentified "female artist" behind the song "Bad Blood," and the scenario sure fits the description of her feud with Katy.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she explained of the unknown enemy. "She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business."
"She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour," the "Shake It Off" artist elaborated. "She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
On Sept. 9, 2014, a day after the Rolling Stone interview came out, Katy sent out a cryptic tweet with all signs pointing to a dig back at Taylor.
"Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing," she posted, alluding to the main meanie in the movie "Mean Girls."
There hasn't been any major resolution between the two women that we know about as of late, so it's very well possible that Katy's perfume is just a continuation of the bad blood between them.
Squash the beef though, ladies! Can't all pop stars just get along?
