Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui was reportedly arrested at the Dulles Airport on Tuesday, Dec. 13 after marijuana was found in her belongings.
The five-woman group was headed to Brazil, where they are still scheduled to perform on Dec. 14.
According to TMZ, the singer was attempting to board a flight at the Washington, D.C.-area airport when she was stopped at a TSA checkpoint and searched. During a secondary search, TSA officers reportedly discovered a bag of marijuana in her carry-on luggage.
The site said she was arrested in the terminal by nearby police officers, but her attorney said otherwise, telling TMZ that Lauren was "simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance." .
Neither Lauren nor the group has addressed the incident on social media.
Lauren and Fifth Harmony had just performed at the Jingle Ball show in D.C. Prior to that performance, the group told radio host Elvis Duran that they have a third album in the works.
"2017, it's going to be popping," 5H member Normani Hamilton said. "We're working on Jingle Ball right now, but the third album is definitely going to be so lit."
Member Dinah Jane Hansen added, "We're really excited."
On Tuesday, the group's twitter page said, "Back to Brazil for @vevo_brasil Fun Pop Festival." Their performance is set to stream live on vevo.com.
The group is also set to perform on Friday, Dec. 16 in Atlanta.
Lauren's attorney said the incident won't interfere with any of the performances and everything is still a go.
As fans found out about the incident, "#FreeLauren" became a trending topic on Twitter, both worldwide and in the United States.
