The battle to save Big Ang's life could rest in the hands of the public.

The "Mob Wives" star has Stage 4 lung and brain cancer and her family is struggling to pay for pain treatment.

On Feb. 2, Ang's sister, Janine Detore, set up a GoFundMe page and she's hoping to receive $25,000 in donations to help pay for cannabis oil for her sister. The oil is known to help treat pain.

As of midday on Feb. 3, the fundraising effort was just less than $4,000 away from the goal. The family titled the GoFundMe page, "The Big Battle."

The reality star's health battle has been well documented. Ang, whose real name is Angela Raiola, had a tumor removed from her throat in April 2015. Toward the end of 2015, her cancer had returned.

"Chemotherapy was started January 5th. On January 26th the doctor reviewed her CT scan and informed us that the treatment was not working, and in fact one tumor grew larger and the other tumors had no change," Janine wrote on the donation page. "We were advised that she would start immunotherapy the following week."

According to the American Cancer Society, immunotherapy is a type of treatment that uses a patient's own immune system to fight cancer.

Janine said her sister ended up in the emergency room and was having trouble breathing.

"The amount of pain she is having is by far more than she could handle. So I suggested cannabis oil as an alternative," Janine wrote. "This is why I am putting up this go fund me to try to help my sister to get this oil to help her at least be pain free."

In thanking all of Ang's fans, Janine gave a grim view of her sister's condition.

"Angela cannot function to work anymore," she wrote. "I'm not sure that [cannabis oil] will work but I'm praying."
