Move along. Jake Gyllenhaal is one the Hollywood's best looking men and most eligible bachelors, so you would think that most women would be fawning all over the actor if he approached them.

Not so.

When it came to one woman in New York, she denied him… and she wasn't even with anyone!

Ouch.

The New York Post shared the tale of Jake's rejection, saying that he was picking up food at Bar Pitti in the city's West Village neighborhood when he spotted the beauty sitting by herself. He then approached her, which would constitute a dream for many women.

"Jake was trying to pick up a girl eating dinner alone at Bar Pitti," a source told the newspaper's Page Six gossip section.

The woman, the Post says, was "here on a business trip, eating by herself, pasta and burrata salad. He was picking up an order and sat down with her for half an hour chatting her up."

She then hit him with a verbal fastball.

"She told him she had a boyfriend!," the source said.

It seems that Jake was already looking toward taking the woman to his mother's house. Last year, he told Ellen DeGeneres that that's his go-to first date move.

"Well one thing I always do. Is I always bring my dates to my mother's house for the first date," Jake jokingly said. "I think that's a good move… My mother believes she thinks arranged marriages might be able to work. Ya know what I mean, like in a good way. She thinks that if she picked for me. That I'd do a lot better."
