JoJo Fletcher is the new “Bachelorette,” it was announced on Monday’s live “The Bachelor: After The Final Rose” special.

As Gossip Cop reported, multiple outlets said earlier this month that Caila Quinn was slated to be the lead on the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.” Quinn, who was the third-to-last girl left on this season of “The Bachelor,” was even recently seen filming in her Ohio hometown. But Gossip Cop only rated the information a “7” on our rumor scale, as ABC would not confirm the speculation, and there’s been a few past instances in which someone has taped a package for the show, only to ultimately not get the gig. And that’s apparently what happened here.

Fletcher, of course, is Ben Higgins’ runner-up. On the “Bachelor” finale, which aired just before the “After The Final Rose” broadcast, he broke up with her and instead proposed to Lauren B. Fletcher appeared devastated after getting dumped, but that was taped in November. The 24-year-old, whose real first name is Joelle, will likely start shooting her “Bachelorette” season in the coming weeks, if not days. She follows in the footsteps of Kaitlyn Bristowe (2015, season 11), Andi Dorfman (2014, season 10), and Desiree Hartsock (2013, season 9). Gossip Cop will have the full video of Fletcher’s “Bachelorette” announcement shortly, so stay tuned!
