Kanye West was so upset during the live taping of "Saturday Night Live" that he nearly pulled a Houdini and walked off the show.
The New York Post reports that Yeezus had an epic tantrum and threatened to walk off the set of the live show because he was unhappy with the set for his performance, which included a video screen and little else (which is common for "SNL.")
Kanye's threats became so bad that "SNL" boss Lorne Michaels and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, had to calm him down.
"Just moments leading into the live show, and during the live show, Kanye had a meltdown and threatened to walk off," a source told the newspaper's Page Six.
Another source said, "It had something to do with the set. "Kim, who was in the audience with Kylie Jenner, had to come down. Lorne had to personally talk to Kanye. There were a few really tense minutes."
Multiple sources confirmed the incident to the New York paper.
A second source said, "[Kanye] freaked out about how the set was arranged. He was saying he's 'the greatest artist.' He's having regular meltdowns. Everyone's walking on eggshells around him. He's under a lot of stress between the new album and the fashion line."
Lorne, the top dog at "SNL," was "eerily calm" through the incident, the first source said, adding, "I guess after 41 years of doing this, he's used to it."
Many among the staff were wondering what they would do it Kanye walked away from the Melissa McCarthy-hosted show.
After the artistic differences were set aside, Kanye finally performed.
It's been a strange week for Kanye. Aside from his meltdown, he dissed Taylor Swift and got dissed back by her at the Grammys (when she won Album of the Year, thankyouverymuch.) He also said he was $53 million in debt and asked Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to invest $1 billion into his ideas.
Yeezy life ain't the easy life, apparently.
